A Short History:
Where it all Began
In 1969, our Stafford practice first opened its doors to the public. Opened by Jennifer and Peter Mincher-Lockett, this family-run business gained a local reputation for quality care that extended far beyond a simple eye test.
Since its humble beginnings in Stafford, the practice has continued to be an important part of the community, and its growing popularity over the space of nearly 50 years has led to multiple expansions to give our patients a greater level of care.
New Beginnings
Mr and Mrs Mincher-Lockett established the practice's core values of excellence in customer care and optometry, which became well-known in Stafford.
In 2006, Mincher-Lockett Opticians saw a change in ownership as its original owners stepped back and Sarah Edge and Jan Goodwin took the reins. With a collective history of working at the practice for 30 years, Jan and Sarah set out to grow the business to include new services and facilities for its patients – whilst still retaining the practice's rich history in customer care.

Since the practice's change in ownership, significant investments have been made to improve our patient's experience. Committed to discovering new and exciting technologies that push the boundaries of eyecare, Jan and Sarah have continued to stay abreast of optical care advancements – ensuring that Mincher-Lockett Opticians remains a modern practice with a broad selection of services.
